MEET THE BUILDER

Mountain Modern Design+Build is a Middleton, Idaho based residential design and build on your land custom homes builder, remodeling services contractor and custom building company with a focus on sustainable energy efficient Zero Energy Ready, RESNET Energy Smart Certified and Energy Star® certified custom home building, remodeling, renovations and additions. We also use our skills and experience as a design build services contractor to build custom decks, patio, pergolas and custom carpentry and woodworking focused projects.

Matt Fletcher, the owner and operator of Mountain Modern Design+Build is a 24 year military veteran and 25 year veteran of the building and construction trades as a carpenter and custom builder in the Treasure Valley and surrounding areas of southwest and central Idaho. He has a Associate of Applied Science in Drafting and Design Technology with an emphasis in architectural design, a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, and has completed masters degree level education in real estate development. In addition Matt has education and experience with the Passive House method of design and building, and training in the RESNET HERS® Certified Modeler method of sustainable efficient custom homes. He applies these principles in the design and building of custom homes, remodeling, renovations and additions. The experience gained as a custom builder, construction manager and custom carpenter lends itself to the design and building of custom shops, garages, custom carpentry and woodworking project. Along with this experience and training, Matt also has training and experience as a home inspector, receiving his home inspector training thru the American Home Inspector Training institute.    

MOUNTAIN MODERN DESIGN CONCEPTS

Mountain modern architectural design and drafting, which is heavily influenced by the  natural surroundings of the mountain landscape, often incorporates  traditionally rustic elements, such as natural materials, rugged  textures, and natural light, with the clean lines, minimal  ornamentation, and integrated outdoor living spaces found in contemporary homes. This approach can be integrated into virtually any home style from ranch house to farmhouse to craftsman and more. 

 
This creates a unique blend of traditional and modern elements that is well suited to our home designs. Our homes & additions as well as other buildings we build are focused around elements that are required for Zero Energy Ready structures. Utilizing designs focused on reducing thermal bridging and creating an air tight building envelope, high performance windows and doors, energy recovery ventilated HVAC systems and heat pump water heaters or tankless systems and super cool items like solar shingles and solar domestic hot water systems are an example of items common to our design scope and specifications. Our interiors focus around a modern living environment with a rustic yet functional appeal.
