The owner of this project wanted to take advantage of the shade in the evenings on this east facing home by having a large one level porch system built off the front of the home to replace the concrete stoop and step system walkway to the driveway area off the existing home. Composite decking that matched the stained redwood fascia and railing system was selected. The owner did the staining work themselves.
A new step system down to the yard was included at the request of the owner. The main steps are show below and come off of the driveway. Pre-stained redwood can be noted here as the railing system was being installed.
A view from the driveway looking onto the new porch system. We built a little shelf area that included wrapping around the existing flag pole installed as the owners had a lot of plant based decorations that they were planning on decorating the deck system with. The top of the railing feature a a drinks platform as they owner intended this space to be a hangout to enjoy the outdoors in the summer shade. An accent lighting system was also installed along the face of the first step down to provide lighting to the stair system coming up from the driveway.
